Mayor of Truskavets

BIO

Andriy is in his second term as Mayor of “the city of doctors” – Truskavets resort in the Ukraine. He is a neuropathologist, an author and initiator of the Association of Resorts of Ukraine. Andriy has been awarded with a certificate of the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for his services to the Ukrainian people.

The thermal town of Truskavets has a wide collection of villas, dating back to the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, today protected as cultural heritage. The town with its resort facilities provide various levels of comfort and price range: from sanatoriums able to accommodate thousands of guests to small boards, villas with 10-12 suites, ultramodern spa-centres, diagnostic and treatment facilities and five-star hotels.

Truskavets is considered to be an important destination among the historic thermal towns in the countries of the Council of Europe.

Graduated in Hispanic Philology from the Complutense University of Madrid. She has several Master’s degrees: Master’s degree in Planning and Management of Destinations and New Tourism Products (UDC); Emigration and Return (University of Vigo); in Economic Development Agents and Program Management (Universidade de Vigo); in Management and Direction of SMEs (Universidade de Vigo); and in Intervention and Management of Social Services (Universidade da Coruña- Spanish Foundation for Social Studies). It also has a Public Leadership Course (INAP).

Between July and December 1998 she was a deputy in the Parliament of Galicia.

From 1998 to 2000 he was responsible for the European Information and Animation Center (Carrefour de Galicia).

From 1999 to 2000, she was Councilor for Social Services of the City Council of Ponteareas.

Between 2000 and 2003 she was mayor of the City Council of Ponteareas.

Since 2003 she has been Councilor for Social Services and Deputy Mayor of the City Council of Ponteareas (Pontevedra), where in 2007 she also assumed the Ministry of Economy and Finance.

From 2003 to 2006 she was responsible for the European Center for Rural Information and Animation (Carrefour de Galicia), a position she also held between 1998 and 2000 and between 1995 and 1998.

Between March 2008 and May 2009 she was a deputy in the Congress.

In May 2009, she was appointed General Director of Commerce, a position she held until September 2012.

In January 2013 she was appointed Director of Tourism of Galicia.
